Eagles Swoop in For Win
The last game of the season was a disappointment
for the Striker as they lost to the Freestate Eagles. After going
six games without a loss, this game proved that every team in the
division is capable of winning against any other. The players were
quickly consoled with the prospect of the team party looming immediately
after the game. [more]

Sterling Strikeforce 0 - Strikers 2
S3 (Strikers Strike Down Strikeforce)
The coaches repositioned players from their usual
slots to start the game. Feeling the team needed refreshing, Coach
Salomon made sweeping changes for the game and the Strikers fit
well into their new positions. The Strikers once again provided
a sterling defensive effort to notch their fourth shutout of the
season. The Strikeforce managed a couple of breakaways but failed
to capitalize on these rare opportunities. The two shots placed
on goal went harmlessly wide of the goal. Otherwise, the defense
did not allow any other quality shots on goal. At this point in
the season, the good guys are tied for fewest goals allowed. [more]

Strikers 2 - BRYC
Whitehawks 0
Strikers Lay Egg on Whitehawks
After playing a long stretch of tough matches,
the Strikers hoped to have a easier go with an opponent below them
in the standings. On a cold, misty day, the Striker fans hoped
the team would catch some heat. In the early going the Whitehawks
gave their everything and made the going tough for the Strikers.
The ball moved constantly from the attacking to the defensive side
with both teams creating decent scoring chances. Several fine saves
by the Strikers' goalkeeper kept the opponent from taking through
the first half. [more]

Manassas Battlefield Tournament
October 9 and 10
This weekend proved to be the season’s strongest
test of the Strikers’ mettle. All three teams the team faced
were either in a higher division or were dominating their competition
in a lower division. While the Strikers tied one and lost, the team
can be proud of the level of play, constant determination to win,
and their focus on improving themselves individually and as a team.

Strikers 1- Nova 1
Same Old, Same Old with Nova
As Yogi Berra once said, “It’s déjà
vu all over again.” The Strikers met Nova for the second time
this year. The first match was punctuated by a number of fouls that
seriously impeded the Strikers from establishing any momentum. This
second meeting was not much different. However, the Strikers have
become more battle tested over the past five weeks and held their
composure. The result – the lads can take pride in turning
a pre-season loss into a league game tie – an important point
against a tough opponent. [more]

Strikers Tame the Storm
Recent heavy rains threatened to postpone this
important game for the Strikers. The planned away game in St. Mary’s
County, MD soon became a home game thanks to NCSL scheduling rules.
To that point, Strikers players and families want to thank the
SMU Storm for traveling to Loudoun County. SMU Storm players and
families alike displayed outstanding sportsmanship. [more]

NCSL Game 1 — Strikers 0, MCSA United 1
It was time to forget about our pre-season successes
and start to concentrate on the NCSL season. The Strikers knew
that every game this season would be tough and the margin for error
was slim. Unfortunately, the stars were not aligned for the squad.

League well by playing hard and showing good sportsmanship throughout
